How to Choose a Smart Lock for a Steel Door
What to consider when choosing a smart lock: unlocking methods, door size, a backup option and installation.
A smart lock opens your door without a key and makes your home more convenient. A few things are worth considering when you choose one.
1. Unlocking methods
A good smart lock offers several ways to open: code, fingerprint, card, doorbell and key. The more methods, the easier everyday use is: a child may prefer a card or code, while you use your fingerprint.
2. A mechanical key as a backup
Most smart locks are electronic and need batteries. That is why it matters that the lock can also be opened with a regular key, so a drained battery never locks you out.
3. Does it fit your door?
Our locks are designed for steel doors. Before ordering, measure the door thickness and the size of your old lock area and contact us, and we will check compatibility together.
4. Screen and design
Some models have a built-in screen, which makes entering the code and managing the lock easier. For example, the F1 Pro has a built-in screen. The F4 Pro offers the same unlocking methods in a different design. Compare both on their product pages.
5. Installation
Correct installation matters for security, so we recommend having a specialist install it. Call or message us for installation details.
